Establishment of mutually beneficial business relations between United Chemical Company LLP and SOCAR Azerbaijan Company

On 12 December 2019, representatives of United Chemical Company LLP together with Chinese partners of Huajin Group visited

Baku to establish and develop long-term and mutually beneficial business relations with SOCAR Company.

SOCAR Company has been operating since 1992 and is the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, which united the production, enterprises and scientific research organizations of the oil industry in a single structure. Today, SOCAR counts more than 14 enterprises in Azerbaijan, operating in 9 countries, has plants for production of carbamide “SOCAR Carbamide”, polymeric products “SOCAR Polymer”, and methanol “SOCAR Methanol” and others.

Within the framework of the meeting, SOCAR’s management shared its experience in implementing petrochemical and chemical projects in Azerbaijan. The sides also discussed issues of project strategy, plans for new projects, including conditions of implementation of urea produced by SOCAR and its transportation to the Chinese market through Kazakhstan. Opportunities and terms of SOCAR’s polymer products sales in Kazakhstan were discussed.

Within the framework of visiting SOCAR Polymer and SOCAR Carbamide plants (with participation of HTAS and Stamicarbon licensors) representatives of Kazakhstan and China delegations got acquainted with current production, installations and capacities of the plants. The Azerbaijani side was also presented experience in the period of the carbamide project and during the operation of the plant.

In the office of SOCAR Marketing a presentation of the production, installations and facilities of “SOCAR Methanol” was made, prices and logistics of products from the plant “SOCAR Polymer” in Kazakhstan to the company “Polymer Production” in Atyrau.

Summing up the meeting, SOCAR expressed its interest in entering the project, which provides for the production of urea in Kazakhstan.
